2022.1.1551.1 Mesh Query
Overview
The Mesh Query tool can find similar objects in the scene.
Where to find
The feature can be found under Utilities > Mesh Tools > Mesh Query.
Feature Layout
The image below shows the complete feature layout of the Mesh Query tool.

1 | Game Object Field | The object you wish to use in the Query operation. |
2 | Initialize All Objects in Scene | Initializes all the objects in the current scene you want to use the Mesh Query operation on. |
3 | Filter by | The filtering options, as described below. Only objects to which all selected filters apply will be found by the Query operation. * Deviation: The amount of deviation in size that is allowed for a positive hit. ( 0 = select exact same mesh. ) |
4 | Size | Filter equal or below given object size (based on the bounding box of the object). |
5 | Mesh Area | Filter by mesh area (the sum of the area of all triangles on the mesh). |
6 | Mesh Volume | Filter by mesh volume. |
7 | Name | Filter by object name. |
8 | Material | Filter by material. Only objects that share all materials with the initial object will be found. |
9 | Triangle Angles | Filter by comparing the angles of the triangles in the mesh. This provides the most accurate result. |
10 | Has (Component) | Select an object with one of these Components and filter other objects that have the same component. |
11 | Select Matching Meshes | Selects all objects in the scene to which the filters apply. |
How to use
Drag an object from the Hierarchy into the Game object field, or select an object directly from the field selector.
The tool automatically initializes all the (child) objects within the selected Game object .
Select the filter settings you wish to use under Filter By. (Multiple selected settings are possible at the same time).
Select one or more diffrent game objects that you would like to match from the Hierarchy or the Scene view.
Then press Select Matching Meshes.
